New Shirt, Who Dis: Be Legendary

Savage has a line she uses when somebody tells her to calm down, and it is not "okay." It's "you can dodge the ball, you can't dodge the legend" — delivered flat, no smile, usually while she's already walking away. I have watched grown adults stand there and quietly recalculate their entire evening.

No. 13 is the most honest person I know, which sounds like a compliment right up until she's honest with you. Savage doesn't do encouragement. She does standards. "Be legendary" isn't a pep talk and it isn't a vibe — it's the bar, and she is not lowering it so you feel better about where you're currently standing. Not average. Not apologizing. Just leveling up. She says it like a fact because to her it is one.

The rest of us find this exhausting and also correct, which is the worst combination. You can't even be annoyed with her properly, because she'll turn around and take a hit meant for you and then say nothing about it for the rest of the season.
